The I-84 Waterbury Project held a Public Listening Sessions during which the public was invited to stop in and share experiences or thoughts on the current I-84 reconstruction project with public involvement staff. The questions asked have been compiled and responses are in the link below. Some comments from that session are also featured on the homepage of the website, and photos of the event are in the July – September 2015 section on the Photo Gallery page on the News and Resources tab.

WATR 1320 AM Radio

CTDOT Project Manager Chris Zukowski was invited to be a guest on local radio programs periodically, giving updates and answering questions over the course of the Project. He was very responsive to public comments – for example, in May, 2016 a resident asked him how pedestrians should travel between the north and south sides of the city during construction of the Hamilton Avenue Bridge. Mr. Zukowski’s team responded promptly by restriping lines delineating the pedestrian crosswalks and pathways along the eastern side of Hamilton Avenue. See the info-graphic with photos of the pathway here: Pedestrian Walkway Across Hamilton Avenue Bridge

Social Media

Check out our Facebook page ; we added photos and sent weekly updates to help residents and travelers anticipate and navigate changes in the corridor during construction for both the short- and long-term.
