The I-84 Waterbury Widening Project is honored to have been chosen by Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) as a finalist for the national America’s Transportation Awards program!
Ours was one of twelve projects selected from DOT nominations from across the country.
Winners in two categories were announced on October 8 at the AASHTO annual meeting in St. Louis. The Grand Prize and the People’s Choice Award – each are awards for $10,000 to a charitable organization or a transportation-related scholarship.
Congratulations to the winning projects:
The Infrastructure Improvements to Downtown St. Louis project – a collaboration between Illinois and Missouri DOTs received the Grand Prize. The $801 million project dramatically improved travel times and provided a new connection to the iconic St. Louis Arch.
Georgia DOT’s Northwest Corridor Express Lanes project received the highest number of online votes in the competition, earning it the People’s Choice award.
